These Terms & Conditions / Terms of Use ("Terms") set out how you may access and use the HomeWagger website and app (together, the "platform"). Please read them carefully before using HomeWagger.

By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use HomeWagger.

For data protection purposes, HomeWagger Tech Ltd acts as the primary data controller for the platform, as explained in our Privacy Notice.

2. What HomeWagger is (and is not)

HomeWagger is a welfare-first platform designed to help individuals, adopters, and shelters connect responsibly to rehome dogs. We provide tools, guidance, and space for people to share information and express interest in dogs who need a new home.

HomeWagger is not:

  • a buying or selling marketplace for animals;
  • a breeder platform or advertising site for litters;
  • a rescue centre, veterinary service, or legal adviser.

3. Eligibility and accounts

To create an account, you must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • be able to enter into a legally binding agreement;
  • provide accurate, truthful information when registering and using the platform.

You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, please notify us immediately.

4. Responsible use of the platform

You agree to use HomeWagger in a lawful, respectful, and welfare-first way. You must not:

  • use the platform to sell dogs or advertise dogs for commercial breeding;
  • post false, misleading, or incomplete information about a dog, yourself, or your circumstances;
  • harass, abuse, intimidate, or discriminate against any user;
  • upload content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise inappropriate;
  • attempt to obtain dogs for unlawful or harmful purposes;
  • interfere with the security, operation, or integrity of the platform;
  • collect data from the platform by automated means without our permission.

5. No selling or commercial breeding

HomeWagger is a welfare-first rehoming platform. You must not:

  • offer dogs for sale on the platform;
  • advertise commercial breeding, litters for sale, or puppy farming; or
  • request or offer payment for dogs other than reasonable, clearly explained contributions toward genuine costs (e.g., vaccinations, neutering, or rescue fees).

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these principles.

6. Content you share

You remain the owner of the content you upload to HomeWagger (such as photos, descriptions, and messages). By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, and share that content as needed to operate the platform and promote welfare-first rehoming.

You confirm that:

  • you have the right to upload the content; and
  • your content does not infringe the rights of any other person.

7. Safety, welfare and your own judgement

We provide tools and guidance to support safe rehoming, but we cannot guarantee the behaviour, health, or suitability of any dog, or the conduct of any user. You are responsible for your own decisions and should take appropriate steps such as asking questions, requesting vet records, and arranging safe, sensible introductions.

If you have concerns about animal welfare, contact an appropriate welfare organisation or authority. If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services.

8. Pro memberships and payments

We may offer optional paid features ("Pro" memberships) for adopters, rehomers, or shelters. Prices, features, and billing terms will be clearly displayed within the platform. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider and are subject to their own terms.

Where a Pro membership renews automatically, you may cancel future renewals at any time via the platform or your app store settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. Unless stated otherwise, Pro fees are non-refundable except where required by law or where a technical issue on our side prevents you from accessing the service paid for.

9. Privacy and data protection

Our use of your personal data is explained in our Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy. Please read these documents as they form part of these Terms.

10. Suspending or ending your access

We may suspend or close your account, remove content, or restrict your access to the platform where we reasonably believe that:

  • you have breached these Terms or our Code of Ethics;
  • your behaviour presents a risk to others or to animal welfare; or
  • we are required to do so by law or regulation.

11. Availability of the platform

We aim to keep HomeWagger available and functioning, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Access may be suspended or limited for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.

12. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any legal rights you may have as a consumer or our liability where it would be unlawful to do so.

Otherwise, to the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:

  • any loss or damage arising from interactions between users or from rehoming decisions;
  • indirect or consequential loss, including emotional distress or loss of opportunity;
  • content posted by users that we did not create.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "last updated" date. If changes are significant, we may also notify you via email or in-app.

14. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may bring claims in your local courts.
